SHIP MODEL TESTING BASIN
The ship is a huge property. It’s functional activity and
investment play a decisive role in Shipowner’s success. Therefore
the ship design is very important.
A completed product without fully technical specification
as customer and designer’s desire causes the headache for
investors. Even, there is not highly effective exploitation
due to a sloping ship is built or optimality of machine capacity
is not be used.
Laboratory – Model testing basin carries out experimentations
on minimized ship model according to designer’s request to
ensure technical specifications (as design calculation) like
a really completed ship.

At present, Laboratory – Model testing basin has following
affairs:
- Resistance and propulsion tests.
- Lagging current model test.
Measurement and claboration of draft lagging current results
of Hull model. Execution of measurement by modern technological
probe.
- Testing of free propeller model and Propeller – Nozzle
Set Model in the open water.
Model testing of hydrodynamic characteristic of free propeller
model and Propeller – Nozzle Set Model in the open water.
- Hydrodynamic characteristic test of free propeller model
and Propeller – Nozzle Set Model in the open water for propulsion
prediction.
- Seakeeping test.
Execution of Seakeeping test of ship model and offshore
mobile objects: motion, resistance in head sea with advance
velocity, rolling wave, annul ship displacement in smooth
water.
- Propeller model test in cavitation tunnel.
Based on the propulsion model testing results and model
arrangement in the cavitation tunnel to assess the working
parameters value of propeller model for propeller model
test.
- Offshore mobile objects.
